Greetings, Mat-Su Sea Hawkers – 2014 was a year to beat all years; Super Bowl Champion Seahawks, great boosters, and many community accomplishments. YOU helped make it all happen. Examples of our 2014 accomplishments include: Mat-Su Sea Hawkers Specific: - Secured the first ever official hosting and viewing of OUR Seahawks Vince Lombardi Trophy in Alaska - Coordinated community visits and fundraising by Seattle Seahawks Heath Farwell, Michael Morgan, Brian Walters - Raised over $36,000 in auction fundraising and individual corporate donations - Continued utilizing grant funds for training and growing board members skill sets - Continued implementing 5-year strategic plan, met short-term goals and objectives before deadlines 2014 Youth Specific Donations: - Alaska Glacier Bears Baseball - $500 - Mat-Su Ski Club – $500 - Mat-Su Miners Baseball – Organization sponsorship - $300 - Mat-Su Amateur Hockey Association - $500 - Palmer Amateur Hockey Association – Peewee D Team - $500 - Pop Warner Football – Alaska Patriots team travel assistance - $250 - Pop Warner Football – Start Up funding to help form Mat-Su Seahawks teams - $11,000 - Punt Pass & Kick – Alaska Division Winner - Seattle Finals competition travel assistance - $500 - Special Olympics – Athlete Fundraiser - $500 - Tanaina Elementary School – Kids Marathon - $250 - Wasilla High School Girls Softball - $500 - Wasilla High School Soccer - $250 2014 Community Contributions: - Alaska Native Medical Center – Seahawk Players & Lombardi Trophy visit - Children’s Hospital Anchorage – Seahawk Players & Lombardi Trophy visit - Mat-Su Sertoma Club – Polar Plunge - $500 - Special Olympics Alaska / BOMA Fundraiser – Seahawk Players & Lombardi Trophy fundraiser visit - Special Olympics Alaska - Polar Plunge Fundraiser - $500 - Sea Hawker Play 60 Community Volunteer’s BBQ - $500 - Sea Hawker Play 60 – Seahawk Players & Lombardi Trophy visit & interacted with 350 local youth - $5,000 - United Way of Mat-Su – Early Childhood Development Program - $250 - Wasilla Sunrise Rotary 5K Run - $500 Since our 2006 inception, we have raised nearly $212,000 and invested nearly $130,000 into community youth and programs. Additionally, we have grown our scholarship endowment to $32,000, and recently established a community infrastructure non-endowed fund with $20,000, and maintain roughly $30,000 in operating reserves.
