Greetings Romance Lovers! While I have your rapt, post-conference attention, I would like to make an announcement. A couple of months ago I said that we were going to close this page and consolidate our FB presence into one page, our official one (link provided below). Well, the time has come. The reasons are assorted, but the main three are that: 1. We cant justify the volunteer time to manage two pages when one can do the job just as well. 2. The format of the like page allows us to have multiple featured posts without interrupting the flow of chat among the general memberships. I was particularly frustrated in the lead-up to conference that pinning the post about transport arrangements (which was very useful and absolutely a good thing to do) on this page meant that I couldnt keep the blog posts about the conference presenters visible as well. The other page format allows that. 3. The vast array of social media options now already splinters our time. In the interests of saving our members time on Facebook (so they can write more books!) it seems to make sense to consolidate into one place. This page will stay up to redirect people to the other page, but as of tomorrow I will be turning off posting by the membership. I have already opened posting on the other page (link below), so you are very welcome to post there. Community posts appear in the posts to page box on the left. If you want to expand the stream, just click on the grey rectangle that has the words posts to page in it and the lovely, ad-free stream will open before you and you can scroll through as usual. I know change can be a pill and I hope no-one is too upset by this change. I have dithered over it for months myself, but have finally concluded that the extra work of two pages isnt justified when we can have all the same benefits with one.
