Greetings: This is an update to let you know that I currently intend to run a full day of school, today, Thursday, January 8th. We have had transportation people several miles out of town, visited with rural patrons, and talked directly with a representative of the National Weather Service. Our best information is that there will probably be a “squall” coming through for the next couple of hours – and then it will be clear again. The wind is expected to remain similar to what we’ve experienced the past two hours. I really believe our best road conditions will be at dismissal time. Obviously I hope that our best information turns out to be correct. Incidently, we have cancelled all event travel this evening, as the visiability conditions after dark are only going to worsen. I accept and respect that there will be differing opinions on when we should run school, as I know there were peopled disappointed when school was cancelled yesterday.
