Greetings, Two thousand years ago, astronomers from the Near East came to visit “the One who has been born King of the Jews” (Matthew 2:2) in Bethlehem. We don’t know whether they were disappointed at the humble baby shown proudly by working-class parents, Mary and Joseph. We are told that the foreign visitors left their extravagant gifts, fit for a king. We call these astronomers “Wise Men” which aptly describes them because they saw the light, responded with action, and hastened to worship the newborn Savior of the world. In this, they could not have been wiser. By the Holy Spirit, we share in their wisdom and do the same. +++ This Week at Palos Lutheran… Sunday, 1/4 9:00 am Worship with Communion 10:20 am Sunday School and Bible Class (Psalm 71) Wednesday, 1/7 10:30 am Through the Bible (Leviticus 1) 6:30 pm Through the Bible (Levitcus 2) Saturday, 1/10 6:30 pm Saturday Evening Service
