Greetings all. Been a bit busy doing some entertaining - one being a Caribbean feast with old friends? fluffed the jerk pork, but the rest was good. Anyway, thought Id share a few insights on Antigua. Tiny place nearly all about hosting Great (and many lesser) Yacht races.....Therefore the main harbours appear stiff with the masts, acres of sails, sleek hulls...single, double and at least one triple, of at all sorts of crafts!!....truly impressive. Seemed to be the really dry season, vegetation suffering though we had a few short squalls of rain. We stayed when on shore - arrival/departure in a delightful But downhome lodging called the Three Martinis. Barbuda - or pancake land - is somewhat above sea level and is known chiefly for its magnificent, protected colony of magnificent frigate birds and as a source of sand for Antigua.....Both islands do have a number of stunning, whites and beaches cater well for all the sea sports. Plants consist of the usual Caribbean subset of the sub and tropical species....surprised by the abundance of mahogany trees as well as the numbers of poisonous manchineels!
