Greetings all! Well, the health updates just seem to keep on coming this week dont they. I have finally updated everyone I needed to personally so I want to update the rest of my extended family and friends about what has been going on with me. I am going to put a bunch of space between here and the update to force it to cut off so if you are feeling overwhelmed, you can come back later, I totally understand the need for that. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) For the past several months, I have been having some pretty bad health problems again, all related to my reproductive system for the most part. After I began arguing with my doctors back in April about this, I decided to look into different doctors. I was referred to an INCREDIBLE group of doctors that have been exceptionally good to me, even through a number of bumps, turns, and near crashes. The new group of doctors have been doing a rather exhaustive series of testing, I underwent a surgical procedure in September as well to get even more data. The good news, which I did mention previously, is that THANK THE GODS I am still cancer free! The bad news was that the tissue they did find was indicative of past developments and treatments, which means it could easily flip over to cancer again quite easily. Taking that and my medical history into consideration, the doctors and I decided the best course of action is to undergo a complete hysterectomy. I did not make this decision lightly, it is a very big step. The truth is, I am exhausted from fighting for my health. I think by my third or fourth period back when I was 11 the problems started and they have only gotten worse. The effects were difficult enough as a teenager...I missed school every month guaranteed for at least a couple of days...but as I got older the symptoms and side effects just snowballed. I know have developing joint and arthritis problems than can be tied to this. I saw a gynecologist starting at age 12/13 ( I cant exactly remember) and have been on various forms of birth control in attempts to mitigate the symptoms since not long after that. Doctor after doctor told my parents and me that I was a hypochondriac or that all girls get their period, its just something you have to life with. Its weighed me down in so many ways, and enough is enough. I understand exactly what this decision means. I thought this through very carefully, and discussed it at length with Alex. I have his full support, and the support of my family. The surgery is scheduled for December 8, at Northern Westchester Hospital. I will be in the hospital for 1-2 days, then at home on bed rest the rest of that week. If anyone has questions, or feels they need to understand this better I am happy to discuss it, but please in a closed communication format. I only ask that you not begin debating this with me here, as there is a great deal of strong emotions that go with this decision and the experiences of my life. Any good thoughts, healing energies, or prayers are all welcome. If anyone in the area is willing and able to possibly help out by maybe running errands, or coming over as company that would welcome, either for me or my household. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting me thus far, you are all amazing!
