Greetings and salutations my Brazilian friends who arrived to AECP - TopicsExpress

Greetings and salutations my Brazilian friends who arrived to AECP in the Fall 2014: This is it. This is my final communication to you as your advisor. :-( I have 3 important announcement for you: # 1 - Your 2nd TOELF official score is now available for you to pick up. Please pick it up at the AECP office between Mon-Fri during office hours 8am-5pm. Please ask the Front Desk for your TOEFL score paper. They know you will be coming. # 2 - I am closing and erasing this Facebook Group on Monday, January 12. You can use the two CsF groups at ASU to communicate with one another and other Brazilians. The last thing is I just wanted to say is a deep thank you to each of you. I am so very grateful for the adventure that we have shared since your arrival in August or September. From crazily running around for 2 days at the 3 terminals at the airport when you arrived, to sitting all day at the Crowne Plaza airport waiting for IIE to make a decision, to moving to the RU with endless rows of luggage, to happily answering never-ending messages at all hours of the day and night, to you teaching me new Portuguese words at the cash distributions, to very suspenseful weeks leading up to your TOEFL tests and Admission decisions, every step has been a great adventure. I always felt that it was the greatest privilege to do everything I could in your behalf. You are the embodiment of everything I hope to be; great and friendly Brazilians who show Americans our culture, our intelligence and our fun nature! I have learned how to be a better Brazilian from you. Just by watching you, talking to you, seeing you interact with one another and with other Americans. I know better now what it means to be a brasileiro. I will be forever grateful to you for that lesson. I dont know all of you as well as wish I could, but I do want you to know that I will be always eager to talk to you and learn about your life in Brazil and about your experiences here at Arizona and across the USA. I am not your advisor anymore, but I will always be your friend. Please stay in touch whenever you want, whether you are at ASU, or after you leave the USA. The door will always be open to you. Muito obrigado por tudo, Joao Ricardo Alves Deal (What my name should have been before my American father changed it on my poor Brazilian mom in a SP hospital many years ago.. :-)
