Greetings everyone! BOTTOM LINE? GOOD NEWS! First, I have to thank you all for the overwhelming show of love, prayer and support. I truly can’t tell you how much that means and how very grateful Dawn and I are for all of you. You are much loved! Here is the readers digest version of the surgery. As most of you know, I am not normal, being so handsome and all is a bit if a handicap of course! As you know a cataract is basically a messed up lens. To replace this lense with the correct strength they have to be able to measure the distance from the lens to the retina where the light is focused. The better the focus the better the vision. Because of the above… me being so handsome and all, the eye Dr’s have never been able to accurately “measure” my eye. Yesterday, they put me out, were able to do this measurement and found that they didn’t have the correct replacement parts on hand and there were non in stock at NAPA or Candian tire SO they will have to order them or have the special made. The bottom line is, because of this the end result will be that much better. There is also a bit of an infection going on in the eyelid on the right eye, the one they were going to operate on. So, I am very excited! The Dr. seemed to be excited. Dawn described him like this when he came and told us that he got an accurate measurement. “Greg, he looked like you when you get a really hard computer problem to solve. He can’t wait to get it done!” So, he will be putting in some VERY strong lenses in my eyes and then can add more with glasses or contact on top of that… so, everyone, the potential results are… well, something that I did not expect! In the meantime, I have to keep my lenses out while this infection goes away. He seemed to think that they could take another stab at it pretty soon as in the next few weeks. This will limit my activity and productivity somewhat for few weeks but that is a small price to pay. I cant wait!! We will keep you all posted and thanks again for your gracious and kind words! P.S. I have to thank my sweet wife Dawnie. Honey, yes, next time the nurse suggests I take a Gravol BEFORE I get into the car, I will listen. So sorry! You are a trooper.
