Greetings everyone in AJW land, Niigata Governor Hirohiko Izumida expressed his opposition to Tokyo Electric Power Co.’s plan to restart reactors at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant in Niigata Prefecture. TEPCO said July 2 that it will file a request with the Nuclear Regulation Authority to restart two of the idle reactors after new safety regulations take effect July 8.
