Greetings, fellow writers. I have been long planning to start a project, and I am here to offer a genuine publishing opportunity. I will be creating, editing, and publishing an anthology of short stories, and I am putting out a call to writers who may be interested in being involved. The allowed genres will be: Fantasy, Scifi, Horror. The purpose of this project is this: It will be published as a free ebook, on all channels, and in print, at the absolute minimum charge possible. The anthology will be an opportunity for more readers to discover us, our work, and get a taste of our writing. This will not be a paid entry, and it also does not cost anything to be involved, except your hard work and time to write and perform edits to a short story. I do not aim to collect royalties, and if profits are generated, no matter how small, I will gladly provide reports to all the authors, and those funds will be used to reimburse any cost of stock images (if there is any), and then paid marketing activities for the book. I will be writing an entry. Every approved author will have a bio page in the book, linking to their sites, and at least one of their books. Expect that your work will go through an editing and peer proofreading process, and it may be brutal. If that scares you, then this is not the project for you. As with all things, there are rules, and here they are: 1) You must be a published author. Traditional, indie, self-published, are all encouraged to apply 2) You must have a minimum of 10 reviews on Amazon. This can be a combination of all of your published books, or just the one. The combined average rating of your book(s) on Amazon must be no lower than 4/5 stars 3) You must have a social media platform. Facebook fan page, Twitter account, and website. I do not set a minimum number of likes or followers, just that these platforms exist. Ideally, you will have more than 0 followers/likes 4) The target market will be 16+. You may write a story aimed at young readers, but you must be comfortable being amongst mature themes. 5) You must be willing to assist promotion of the book, on social media channels (free is fine. I will never ask you to put money into marketing.) How to apply/standards: A) Respond in comments with a one-line elevator pitch of your short story, its genre, and a link to your Amazon page. B) Your short story will be between 4000-5000 words. C) It must have never been published, anywhere. It also must be a story with a beginning, middle, and actual end. No part stories are allowed, although it can be related to a storyline or world from another of your books. D) It is to contain *no* plagiarism. If copyrighted text is found, then you will be removed from the book. E) This is a case of first in, best dressed for approved authors. I will allow approximately 24 authors. Once the spots are filled, then that is all folks! F) Only one story is allowed per author. It would be unfair to give one author better coverage than another G) I will personally reply, and comment for any author who is accepted. H) You will have two months to write your short story. I expect that we should publish this by June-July this year, latest. I) You must be willing to read the short stories of the other authors, and provide any feedback. This includes having yours read by the other authors. You do not have to take all of the peer feedback on-board. J) Your stories will be edited by myself. That feedback will be provided to you, and it will be YOUR discretion as to how much you accept or change. K) I will create a fan page which will be for this anthology, which I expect all accepted authors to join, discuss the project actively, and promote. So, who wants to be involved? And feel free to ask any questions.
