Greetings from Denver! Texas was mental - the Texans love rock guitar and they were duly impressed with James Walbourne. (Well of-course - home of ZZ Top, Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughan - the list long and impressive — do the math). Tulsa always a treat. Hardcore. We’re loving these theatres more than ever like I keep saying. I used to be perturbed if people weren’t standing but that’s a club thing and the theatres afford more scope in many ways. We’ve made an effort to present a show for the benefit of the theatre vibe. The phone thing is spoiling it a little. I guess everybody has that compulsive phone addiction. Sure looks weird from the stage. Really distracting. Every night I go out telling myself to ignore it but before you can say ‘Just one’ I’m forgetting whole verses and slipping up and once the concentration is gone it’s hard to find my way back. So to those of you who have managed to NOT pull your phones out - thank-you. thank-you thank-you thank-you. Maybe one day it will be regarded as just out and out rude like in a playhouse. Or like smoking in an elevator. Until that day comes, how bout saving the phone for stadiums where the band can’t see you anyway. Take a picture of the big screen. Or if you see the guy next to you using one at one of our shows - how bout punching him in the nose for me. Apart from that I can say that we are really feeling the love. And it feels good. Back at cha! Don’t forget to get to the show in time to see James W’s ‘other’ band , The Rails. They are brilliant! xch
