Greetings from Upstate! Ill be teaching an Experiential Anatomy workshop at Berkshire Pulse in Housatonic, MA on Thursday evenings from 6-7:30pm. 10 week series begins January 22nd. This course is intended to deepen the experience of our own moving bodies. For each class we will focus on a different area of our structural anatomy. We will learn the names of the bones, trace their positions on our own bodies, locate articulations and boney landmarks where muscles attach, and explore movement possibilities at our joints. We will apply kinesthetic concepts; such as, the three planes of movement, counter-rotation, distal and proximal movement, to help bring awareness to our movement and postural patterns, and open up new possibilities of initiating, sequencing and supporting movement throughout the body. Movement fundamentals drawn from dance and from early development, as well as the practice of Authentic Movement and Contact Improvisation, may be used to inform, deepen and integrate our exploration. Week 1: Spine Week 2: Head Week 3: Ribs Week 4: Shoulder Girdle Week 5: Lower Arm & Hand Week 6: Feet & Lower Leg Week 7: Knee & Thigh Week 8: Pelvis Week 9: Bones, Joints, Synovial Fluid Week 10: Integration , Review, Questions berkshirepulse.org berkshire.pulse@gmail
