Greetings on this fine Presidents Day! And today the topic is civic duty. Beginning tomorrow, and for the next couple weeks, just call me Number 5. No--Im not finally confessing to the fact that I am a Cylon (thatll come later), rather, for the 2nd time since relocating to our fair city of San Francisco I am seated on a jury (Juror #5), and the trial begins tomorrow. One of the many things I found fascinating about the process last time (13 years ago) was the fact that we could neither say, nor discuss, nor research, ANYTHING at all about the trial while it was in progress; like walking on eggshells--avoiding contact with fellow jurors, with the attorneys in the hallways, etc. BUT, as soon as the verdict was handed down and it was over, we could say anything and everything to anybody about every aspect of it.
