Greetings once again! The 2014 Bazinga! Half Marathon, benefiting the Noah’s Light Foundation for pediatric brain cancer research and the ASPCA is still open for registration. I’m very excited to be participating in this event. You may be asking yourself if I’ve ever run before. Certainly. Ive run from bullies, dogs, angry chickens and one particularly persistent PE teacher determined to bend me over and give me a scoliosis test. I read on the internet that hydration is important when running outside in the summer heat, so I encourage you to partake in whatever beverage that you prefer on a regular basis during your run. Personally, I love strawberry Quik. Its my favorite pink fluid narrowly beating out Pepto-Bismol. Also, be sure not to over do your mileage during the heat of the day, thinking the more, the merrier. Thats a false equivalency, more does not equal merry. If there were two thousand people in my apartment, would we be celebrating? No, wed be suffocating. Registration ends September 30th, so be sure to sign up before you miss out on all the fun. Trust me, you will be kicking yourself if you pass this one by! I believe the appropriate metaphor here involves a river of excrement and a Native American water vessel without any means of propulsion.
