Greetings to all our Farmers Market friends and fans! Today were going to tell you about two of our vendors who have created fresh, healthy goodness for you AND your babies. Carrie Jenkins is the Raw Food Warrior. She brings you Natural Food Simply Made. So just what is this raw food concept? Much more than salads and fruit, its based on the concept that eating natural food which can be digested without cooking creates optimum health and vitality while minimizing digestive issues. Using organic nuts, seeds, produce, and natural seasonings, Carrie uses dehydrating techniques to lock in vitamins and minerals to create food that is 100% vegan and gluten-free. Nuts and seeds, which are used in every recipe, are pre-soaked to ensure prime digestibility. The Lime Flax Crackers and Cilantro-Lime Flax Crackers are a great alternative to potato chips. And right now for you fried okra fans, limited supplies of Okra Crunch, made with okra and flax batter are available. There are kale chips in a variety of flavors - Spicy Grannys Garden, made with carrots and jalapeno chiles (warning! These are SPICY, but oh so good!); Holy Yogi, made with Indian spices; and Lightly Salted. Try the Spinach Almond Hummus or Spicy Spinach Almond Hummus (again - SPICY, but this is one of our favorites), or the Sage Burgers which come in a 2-pack. These are made with almonds, walnuts, Brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, fresh celery, and sausage spices. Many products sell out fast, so visit Raw Food Warrior at booth #47 early. Jenna Boyd grew up in a family of six, and her mom always made her own baby food. When Jennas friends became new mothers who wanted fresh, healthy foods for their babies but didnt have the time to make their own, Jenna decided to help them out, and in 2012 she began making Chubby Bunny Baby Food. Using organic ingredients whenever possible, Jenna loves to experiment with combinations of seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices sourced from local farms. All are cooked, pureed, and packaged in 4-ounce pouches, which make them easy to grab and go. And before she offers a new product, it is taste-tested by a panel of very picky little eaters! The products change with the seasons, and currently the summer offerings include Sweet Sully, made with roasted beets seasoned with cinnamon; Mango Maggie, made with carrots, kale, mango and ginger; Sassy Sally, made with sweet potatoes and zucchini with a hint of curry; and Brock-O-Lee, made with broccoli and quinoa cooked with unsalted chicken stock. Wow! These sound so good, were thinking about trying some as a healthy snack for ourselves! You can find Chubby Bunny Baby Food at booth #39. Its going to be another gorgeous day for the Market. Eight O Five Jive will be providing some swinging sounds for your entertainment. There is plenty of parking at Ace Hardware with overflow parking located at the Music City Star and Donelson Plaza parking lots. Dont forget to take advantage of the shuttle bus, which runs continuously between the parking lots and the Market. If you need handicap parking or special assistance, be sure to let one of our friendly, helpful crossing guards, who direct traffic on Old Lebanon Rd, know. They will contact someone at the information booth, and well get you taken care of. We love to see your beautiful furbabies, but please use caution when bringing them to the Market. Remember, their little paws are very sensitive to the heat. We look forward to seeing you this afternoon!
