Greetings to everyone connected to Ingleside Baptist Church. I began going to IBC in 1955, when T.C. Pennell was pastor. He was responsible for marrying my parents in 1949. One service, while sitting on the third row on the right side of the platform, I saw Bro. Pennell collapse and die at the pulpit. That is something I will never forget, but I know he is some place where I will see him again. Later in life, Bro. Jack Merritt was preaching when my Sunday School teach, John Rothenberger led me to Christ--I was 8 years old at the time. I loved the music provided by the Clancy family. I had mean Sunday School and VBS teachers who made me memorize scripture, but it is still hidden in my heart after all these years. I had to memorize all the books of the Bible and recite the Christmas story. We had sword drills in Sunday School. I am thankful for all of those activities. Many friends were made at IBC, even though I lived across Hollywood in Sunset Acres and most of my friends at church were in Werner Park. Just checking in to say thank you to Ingleside Baptist Church.
