Greg Manahan found this important speech by Netanyahu saying a two state solution was not enough of a concession and that Palestinians must give up the right to return -- a position that I now know to be illegal... Further to my previous email I can now furnish you with the text of Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech. Apart from a very selective history lesson he says this : Why are you not willing to recognize the Jewish state? We are willing to recognize your nation state, and that is at great cost – it involves territories, our ancestral lands, which is not insignificant. And I say this as well – this is a very difficult thing. But you need to make a series of concessions too and the first concession is to give up your dream of the right of return. We will not be satisfied with recognition of the Israeli people or of some kind of binational state which will later be flooded by refugees. There’s no nuance here. This is a direct statement killing the hopes and dignity of the Palestinian people. There will be no peace without justice, equality and with Netanyahu.
