Dont know what it is, but its got this energy that produces really interesting results, inspires greatness in people and inspires mention of its very name in more movies than probably any other town except NYC itself. Just go see the Martin Scorsese movie The Wolf of Wall Street and listen to where Leonardo DiCaprios character says hes from or watch the show Entourage whose characters are from Bayside, ask Christopher Walken, ask Willie Degal whose show Restaurant Stakeout on the food network was born out of his Uncle Jacks Steakhouse in Bayside, watch the movie Frequency with Dennis Quaid that takes place in Bayside, George Costanza from Seinfield mentions that his family was from Bayside. Robin Williams character in Good Morning Vietnam was from Bayside, even NYCs famous Mayor Fiorello Henry LaGuardia chose Bayside to live in along with a long list of other very famous celebrities and sports figures like Boxing Champion Gentleman Jim Corbett and Mets baseball player Tom Seaver, composers like Irving Berlin and movie stars like Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson , Buster Keeton, Paul Newman, John Barrymore and Charlie Chaplin lived here. It was the first Beverly Hills during the early days of film (just check out the list attached at the bottom of this post). So, who knows why, but Bayside has a very special certain something that just radiates a magical presence and acts like a magnet for productive creativity. It even inspired a band to name itself after the town.
