Grenada 40th Independence Celebrations and Ruby Awards My fellow Grenadians, Carriacouans, Petit Martiniquans at home & in the Diaspora, and friends. It gives me great pleasure to host Grenada’s 40th independence celebrations, this will be a tremendous occasion to let the world know that Grenada is open for business, that our tri island state, including the islands of Carriacou and Petit Martinique, offer exceptional quality of life and our people, our greatest assets, are among the nicest in the world. As we celebrate “40 years of Grenada”, we remember some of our many achievements; Our first Olympic Gold Medal won by Mr Kirani James in the 400m, propelling Grenada to the “most successful” Olympic nation status by population. Our premier league footballer Mr Jason Roberts; In the area of military service Dr Johnson Beharry VC for bravery and Our speed of recovery efforts following the devastating hurricane Ivan in 2005 Looking to the future; it is my fervent wish to connect with every Grenadian in the UK – both those born in Grenada and born in the diaspora. We welcome businessmen and women of Grenadian descent and international investors to visit Grenada to understand the business potential. Join other international investors such as hotelier Peter de Savary, billionaire Naguib Sawiris, Sandals owner Butch Stewart and a host of business leaders, making Grenada their investment destination. We welcome everyone; Grenadians, friends of Grenada and the general public, to experience Grenadian hospitality and cuisine at our Independence Celebrations and Ruby Awards Gala, to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane in London on Saturday 8th February 2014. I take this opportunity to wish everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous 2014 Best wishes His Excellency Mr Joslyn Whiteman High Commissioner for Grenada youtu.be/PffxaLtwaOU youtu.be/Lg3ZRGETQ4U
