Greyfriars Vs Nottinghamshire F.C Sat 09th November Match write up: Game Kicked off and Greyfriars had come straight at Nottinghamshire in the first 5 Mins looking a strong outfit. By then Nottinghamshire had settled down and was passing the ball around the back 4 and linking up great play with the midfield then on to the forwards. Liam Trout, Richard Evison and Alex Richards all leading the back line and nothing getting by them. Has the game continues it was clear that Nottinghamshire was the dominant team and missed a number of clear opportunities a couple from Loui Farmer Couple from Rob Heyworth 1 from Matt Commander and some more half chances, while Greyfriars didn’t really have any clear chances at all 1st half, Half time come and it was still 0-0 somehow and it had that feeling that it was going to come back and bite us on the arse for not putting our chances away. 2nd half kicked off and Greyfriars had woken up a little bit but notts still being the better of the 2 more pressure was coming on the back 3 and Adam commander was forced to make some excellent saves 1 of them standing out more than others is where he tipped it onto the bar after a great diving save. Last minute of the game Alex Richards were running down the line and got blatently got fouled 3 times and just carried on but on the last challange he taken a big hit and went down, the Ref was not watching the game for unknown reasons maybe that he was pissed up from the night before and admitted this after the game and didn’t give the foul but gave a drop ball (should of been free kick or passed back to our goalie) we didn’t turn up for the drop ball just gave it to them they put it in the box come back out drilled it back in and went in back of the net last kick of the game 1-0 Greyfriars biggest con ever!!! But the lads took so much more than 3 points this game it was a great performance and just need to compose ourself in front of goal then we will demolish teams!!! Just because we are losing it don’t mean we are shit theres only 1 team this season who deserved to beat us and just need this season together to gel then we will be laughing!!! Adam Commander – GK - 9.0 – Although we got beat Adam made some cracking saves and maybe is best performance of the season well done mate maybe should of dived for last goal but not even going to put that on you had a great game. Liam Trout – CB – 9.2- 1st game back in a while had a tough guy to mark and done it no trouble playing some very nice football at the back and made some crucial tackles. Joint MOM Richard Evison – CB – 9.2 – Played the leading role at the back 3 and just seems to be getting better and better week by week, love the big tackles he put in like Trouty played the ball out well from the back got a yellow card for some reason but who cares with performances like that just needs to start motivating the lads more in games as skipper but that will come !!!. Joint MOM Alex Richards – CB – 9.2- there forward and right midfielder was getting very frustrated playing against Alex everything he threw at him Alex had a way to stop him, his manager was urging him to take Alex on but it want happening top quality defender and got took out cus they new he was quality luckily it was at end of game and thankfully not out for a long time. Joint MOM Liam Kerry – RWB – 7.7 – had a very active first half and at times made his defender look stupid just need to learn when to commit and when to stay and hold so he don’t burn himself out, 2nd half dropped off the pace due to being knackered but overall a great game well played Liam. Matt Commander – DCM – 7.9 – first half put some great tackles in and could of had a goal to his name if he headed it and not tried the half volley but that been said any other day he connects tired a bit 2nd half but his fitness is deffo getting better and better still think matt will be the key player when he’s fit, needs to go in as a CB when defending and hold the middle when attacking it will come though top player!!! Ryan Pearson – CM – 7.5 – Got injured in the first 15 mins but managed to carry on until late 2nd half always go that quality with Ryan passing abilty is great skill coming out of his head just needs to learn to get back when lost the ball got brought off cus of injury overall good game. Alex Russell – CM- 8.3 – should of had a few goals himself as well shooting just want there had a really good game like ryan needs to track back when lost ball, had a little spell up front and looked dangerous there but had to drop him back due to injuries just a matter of time before we all start finding full form and scoring a few goals. Lewis Margeson - LWB - 8.5 - Lewis has this great ability at taking on players and Greyfriars RB got it off lewis with full force needs to start cutting in and have more shots which will kill teams, 2nd half drifted out the game a bit but that was down to being up and down all game not lewis best game but certainly want a crap game well played. Loui Farmer- ST – 8.5 – What can I say not naturally a ST but looks like he could play there movement his great just wish he had a little more pace, could of had an hat trick first half missed a open goal and missed an header last one rob could of put him in 1 vs. 1 but getting himself in these positions is very promising, needs to get to training get some fitness and sharpness apart from that can’t fault the guy the goals will come you just need to start believing it as well. Rob Heyworth – ST – 8.0 – First start for Notts great movement lacked a bit of pace and sharpness but link up play was very good can see he has goals in him and I think when match fit will be a great addition to the team, was a pain in the arse for Greyfriars defence just need to settle in well played Subs: Matt Nolan – ST – 6.5- Come on for rob but didn’t make a massive impact on the game chased back first 5 but after that didn’t really get into the game never mind always next game. Connor Boulton – LWB – 6.5 – Like Nolan didn’t really get into the game was a very hard game to come on to as a sub but put is all into it when he was on the pitch love Connor’s attitude and he is determined to break into the team up front keep working hard pal your break will come Sam Newbold – CB – 5.0 – Standard rating for when you come on as a sub was only on for less than a minute so couldn’t really comment on anything else but Sam his getting better and better every time I see him. David – Sub- Not used but will be deffo trying him out looks like he has a bit to offer MOM – Liam Trout , Richard Evison, Alex Richards Donkey of the Match – The Referee
