Back row, standing Left to Right: Fred DeFelice, Paul Barrett, John Kelly, Hugh Rodgers, Steve Langan, [Lackawanna County Detective] Thomas “Mose” McDonald, Bill O’Brien, Joe McCrone, Bill Culkin, Martin Ferguson, Frank Butler, Unknown, Unknown, Dr. Elsinger. In October 1940 the local Greyhound Bus operation received the first of their sleek new busses in Scranton. The manager of Scranton Operations, Art Weinstock, invited a group of local dignitaries [all neatly dressed, which was the style of the day] to a tour of the Pocono Mountains and lunch at a restaurant along Rt. 611. Art lived at 2211 Jefferson Avenue, Dunmore, the last block at Marywood. Representing the Marywood area were Paul Barrett, Arts next-door neighbor and owner/editor of the Dunmorian our weekly newspaper, and from College St, Bill Culkin, Jack Flynn and John Ruddy. The remainder of the group seem to be primarily from Dunmore except for Bill Farrell from the vicinity of N. Washington and Columbia. I believe that Republicans were excluded or possibly no one knew any Republicans who would socialize with Democrats. The two “Unknowns” standing to the right are Greyhound Executives.
