Grieve and sorrow There is no one right way to grieve. Everyone’s experience of grief is unique. But there are some general hints that may support us overcoming our grieve faster. Remember that no matter how much pain we may feel, we usually overcome the grieve. Emotional ups and downs are a normal part of any grieving process. No need to speed up or avoid the grieve. If we do, we may not regain the balance we wish. Our grieving will have been incomplete, and our energy to deal with the present will remain bound to the past. We should take care for ourself as if we are caring for a dear friend. And we should probably avoid big changes or make important decisions unless we absolutely must. We can ask those we love and trust for support. We don’t have to face this alone. We can write down our feelings and thoughts. Journaling can help us bring our unexpressed emotions to the surface, thereby encouraging the grieving process to move along. With time and perspective, we may also be able to see something positive. We may be able to appreciate good times more than ever before. Or we may have an increased respect for our own strength and resilience. And, we can better empathize with others as a result of our own reflected experience.
