Grimms fairy tales dont bear much resemblance to their Disney counterparts – theyre dark, often violent, and sometimes weird. DeKalb Public Library is hosting what looks like a fascinating talk at 7 pm Tuesday titled Grimms Grimmest, in which professional storytellers will dramatically retell the original stories with period music. They will also discuss the useful role the fear the stories caused in children played as a survival tool.
