Group Commends Suswam Over Senate Screening The group under the auspices, Benue Youth in Diaspora Association has commended the Executive Governor of Benue State, Governor Gabriel Suswam over his successful screening as a top contender for the Benue North East Senatorial District. The National Secretary of the group, Comrade Torkuma Asongo handed down the commendation yesterday in Abuja after it’s plenary on the state of the nation. Asongo called on all Benue Stakeholders to support Governor Suswam, maintaining that the Peoples Democratic Party will continue to win elections in the state if it fields credible candidate like Governor Gabriel Suswam who is endeared to the heart of the largest population of the people in the state through his selfless service delivery to the grassroot. The group also maintained that the screening of the aspirant is already causing some aspirants to beat a retreat knowing fully well that he has done his home-work to win any individual no matter how highly placed across the state and urged such persons not to see themselves as losers but conduct themselves peacefully after the elections to reap maximally from Suswam’s wealth of experience. “The news of Governor Suswam’s screening didn’t come to us a surprise knowing well that it is a party that is truly democratic and with eyes always fixed on the masses choice in every election, this to many of us is a welcome development that deserve some celebration because we can go to bed as a people when we are sure that a true servant leader is representing us at the senate.” “We unequivocally call on the People Democratic to without fear or favour conduct a free and fair primaries and see how well they will do at the polls, i am mandated to say this on behalf of everybody present at this gathering for the fact that we are mobilising resources to ensure that Governor Suswam is voted back to the National Assembly to continue with his good work.” “Lastly, Benue is already in celebration mood and it shall continue even as we urge those that are already beating a retreat for fear of defeat to quickly join in the celebration and prepare themselves to benefit maximally from Governor Suswam’s large heart, experience and good governance qualities,” he said
