Group Input Needed: About a month ago, my daughter was at her fathers house during his custody weekend. While there, my 3 year old was attacked by his moms dog. I wasnt aware his mom and her dog lived in his home, and it was revealed to me she moved in after a suicide attempt and needed observation. My daughter was intubated in the ICU for days and had to undergo 2 surgeries to treat the wounds to her face, eye, inside her mouth, arm, and torso. After she got out of the hospital and I got her into counseling (there was a serious change in her behavior), I filed to petition to the court to restrict my exs custody to 4 hours every other Saturday for a few months, where he couldnt take her back to his house or release her to anyone elses custody. Since the DCFS case is still open and my ex contested the petition, the judge appointed my daughter a guardian ad litem to represent her. Does anyone know what to expect when working with a GAL? M
