Group Input Needed: Yesterday, my ex-N texted me and told me that our son was not in school due to illness, nor was he the day before this. I asked the usual questions...and also asked if it looked like strep throat as our son tends to get strep throat a lot throughout the year. He said it didnt look like strep but to be sure I scheduled him a doctors appointment. Shortly after speaking with ex-N, our son calls me and for the third time in a month, without a reason, tells me that he does not want to come to my house. I told him that I missed him and that I would like to see him and by mistake on my part, told him that he had a doctors appointment. Then he really got worked up (he is 7.) I asked to speak with his grandmother who was caring for him as his father was out of state working, as usual. She asked why he had an appointment, it was just a cold etc...the last time our son was absent from school for 3 days and it was just a cold, I took him to the doctor and he DID have strep throat. She basically just said ok and that she would get him ready for me to pick up at 3:00. Before arriving to pick up our son, ex-N calls and says that he doesnt want to go with you, I gave him a choice on whether or not he wanted to go to your house, do you even know him at all, Im not around to deal with him, he doesnt need to go to the doctor every time he sneezes...I basically told him to let me take care of it. As Im still on the phone with him sitting in my car, his mother walks out of the house and is standing outside my car door while her perfect son is just going off on me. I hung up on him, rolled the window down and she proceeds to tell me that our son doesnt want to come out of the house, she doesnt understand still why Im taking him to the doctor and I repeated what I had told her over the phone and that he needs to go to his appointment. With our sons temper tantrums lately, there was no way I or anyone else was getting him out of the house and into my car. I said Forget it, Ill leave and Ill take care of it. She goes pffft, what do you mean youll take care of it? I said again that I would take care of it and she then told me I was RETARDED and walked away. By take care of it, I meant file a parenting time violation with the court. The kicker, ex-N called my mother at work saying I wouldnt talk to him basically bashing me to my own mother while he is 5 states away and had a 20 minute conversation with her because I kept hanging up on him. I hung up on him once, the first time he called and never answered any of his other calls. Opinions?
