Group commends Petroleum Minister for Enhancing Transparency in the Industry Tosin Johnson, a leader of an NGO, Conscience Nigeria, has commended Mrs Diezani-Allision Madueke the Minister of Petroleum Resources, for enhancing transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. He told newsmen in an interview in Abuja that he commends ‘the giant stride of the Honourable Minister of Petroleum and her selfless service to her fatherland, ‘He said that under her watch, the sector had witnessed `a wave of activities and performance which had placed the industry on a renewed path of growth and sustained development.’ The minister, Tosin noted, had transformed the sector to a `globally acceptable standard’ to the admiration of everybody. He highlighted some achievements of the petroleum ministry under Dezaini’s supervision to include: revamping and rehabilitation of the previously non-functioning petroleum product depots and pipelines. “ This includes the Benin depot, Warri-Benin pipeline; Enugu, Gombe and Port Harcourt depot and restoration of product supply to facilities. The director said the ministry also rebuilt of the burnt down Okirika product loading Arm and Jetty. “The minister also engineered the comprehensive re-draft of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) which is currently undergoing legislative process in the National Assembly,’’ He hereby urged Nigerians to support the minister in her quest to move the petroleum industry to an enviable height. - See more at: moonreports/?p=2163#sthash.dEiWrqZX.dpuf
