Groves Police Department recent calls for service: JULY 10 - 16, 2013 145 Miscellaneous calls for service assistance 67 Offense reports filed 1 Motor vehicle accidents investigated WEDNESDAY, JULY 10, 2013 A citizen reported being the victim of fraud resulting in the theft of over $1,000.00. Brake light covers were stolen from a trailer parked in the 4300 block of McKinley. A 20 year old male was arrested on outstanding Port Neches PD warrants in the 3000 block of East Drive. A 51 year old male was arrested for Public Intoxication after officers were called to the 6600 block of Verde. The burglary of two vehicles was reported in the 3200 block of Woodlawn. A citizen reported being the victim of a check cashing scam. THURSDAY, JULY 11, 2013 Two subjects wearing black hoodies attempted to steal a boat motor in the 6900 block of 32nd Street. A dog bite was reported in the 3800 block of Main. Someone entered a building in the 6200 block of 25th Street and stole neon beer signs, weed eaters, romex wiring and battery chargers. A disturbance was reported in the 6800 block of W. Jefferson. Someone broke the windshield of a vehicle with a brick in the 5500 block of Anselmo. A 29 year old female was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in the 3400 block of Taft. Jewelry was stolen from a house in the 4400 block of Boyd. A female victim reported being the victim of a theft in the 6200 block of 39th Street. She advised that three men riding bicycles drove past her and stole an envelope with cash in it that she was holding. A 17 year old female was arrested for Possession of Marijuana in the 4700 block of Graves and a 19 year old male was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Copper wiring was stolen from a building in the 4000 block of Twin City Hwy. A counterfeit check was passed at a business in the 5200 block of E. Parkway. FRIDAY, JULY 12, 2013 A radar detector was stolen from a vehicle in the 2000 block of Ray. A gold wedding ring was stolen from a delivery package. A Criminal Trespass warning notice was issued in the 4800 block of Twin City Hwy. Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account. Two gun shots were fired at a house in the 5000 block of Woodlawn. No one was injured. A disturbance was reported in the 4900 block of Beaumont. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 4400 block of Harrison. SATURDAY, JULY 13 , 2013 The driver of a tan colored vehicle struck another vehicle and then left the scene from the 3400 block of Twin City Hwy. Someone attempted to break into an apartment in the 5400 block of Gulf. SUNDAY, JULY 14, 2013 An attempted burglary of a habitation was reported in the 3500 block of Lay Avenue. Two vehicles parked in the 3300 block of Lay Avenue were entered. The vehicle’s registration sticker and insurance cards were stolen. Burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 3300 block of Lay Avenue. An insurance card was stolen from a vehicle in the 3300 block of Lay Avenue. A GPS system, music CD’s, keys and cash were stolen from a vehicle in the 3100 block of Lay Avenue. A GPS system was stolen from a vehicle in the 3100 block of Lay Avenue. A vehicle’s owner’s manual was stolen from the 3400 block of Lay Avenue. A barcode scanner and coins were stolen from a vehicle in the 3100 block of Lay Avenue. A Sony CD player was stolen from a vehicle in the 3800 block of Lay Avenue. A Motorola Slate tablet was stolen from a vehicle in the 3200 block of Eugenia. The burglary of a vehicle and a house was reported in the 3800 block of Lay. Someone attempted to break into a window of a house in the 3200 block of Lay Avenue. A semi-automatic pistol was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 3300 block of Lay Avenue. A vehicle was entered in the 3400 block of Lay Avenue. Nothing appeared to be missing. MONDAY, JULY 15, 2013 A 21 year old male was arrested on outstanding PAPD warrants in the 3800 block of Main Avenue. Burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 3500 block of Lay Avenue. A disturbance was reported in the 4800 block of Pure Atlantic. Two citizens reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be their relative asking for money. Four juveniles were found inside a building in the 5300 block of Lincoln where graffiti had been painted on the walls. Jewelry, a purse and two paintings were stolen from a house in the 4500 block of Graves. Fishing equipment and a generator from the 6300 block of Val. An 18 year old male was arrested on an outstanding Jefferson County warrant in the 6300 block of Verde. Two persons were arrested for Public Intoxication in the 5000 block of 32nd Street. A disturbance was reported in the 5200 block of 33rd Street. TUESDAY, JULY 16, 2013 A wallet was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 5000 block of Twin City Hwy. Someone broke into a house in the 6300 block of Warren and stole approximately $100.00 worth of old coins. A citizen reported being harassed. Burglary of a residence was reported in the 4500 block of Bellaire. An Assault was reported in the 3200 block of Taft. An Assault was reported in the 5100 block of 33rd Street.
