Growing older is a gift that is not guaranteed to all of us. And those of us blessed with longevity have moments when the loss of close friends and family profoundly touch our thoughts of mortality. Today I am touched by the loss of a cousin who was 14 months older than me and shared a lifetime of our collective joys and sorrows. Twenty-some years ago I promised her that when she passed she would be remembered for more than graduating Cheltenham High School with Bibi Netanyahu. So, today I remember Carol for racing with me as little girls across the decks of cruise ships; teaching my son to love caviar and sushi; being an awesome friend to my sister and me; playing hide and seek at the old Latin Casino; escapades in every city we were in. I know you are no longer in pain and at eternal peace. Your memory will always be a blessing to me.
