Growing up in a suburb of Detroit Ive heard stories of people shot at a gas station pump because they looked at a guy the wrong way.... The point? Im hardly known as politically correct so heres my take on what happened in Paris this morning.... When you provoke the wrong people, sometimes the results are deadly. Am I saying that what happened this morning is justified? Absolutely NOT.... What I am saying is that when you make it your mission to mock the core of the beliefs of so many groups of people.... The odds of pissing off (at least) one group so much that it will react in the most extreme of manners.... Are increased exponentially. Does it make it right? Nope.... BUT.... THAT is human nature. NOT everyone reacts the way you want them to... I REFUSE to take responsibility for it... I REFUSE to continuously apologize for the actions of a group that does NOT represent MY beliefs simply because they claim to share my religion. Frankly, I am sick of having to explain that Islam isnt some backwards, savage religion. There are over a BILLION Muslims in the world living peacefully with their neighbors, yet we have to consistently offer explanations for the thousands breaking the rules.... Its getting old. EACH group in EVERY conflict needs to start taking responsibility for THEIR actions that led to said escalation.... The satirical newspaper that elected to publish naked cartoons (among others) of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) KNOWING damn well it would greatly offend Muslims, played a part in the conflict.... The masked gunmen that dealt with it in a criminal manner, played a part in the conflict.... Those of us that woke up to the news of what happened.... Did NOT. ~Rant Over
