Grrr... Keeping the real corporate name of the guilty party to myself because I am a polite sort of person (and one who doesnt want to get sued), it is going to be a really long time before I fly commercially on Air Manana again. NONE of our checked bags arrived with us, and this is not the first time this outfit has done this to us. I got a phone call this morning just before I left for work that the suitcases were located, in Dallas, Texas (at least, they think they actually figured out where they put them!), but so far they havent gotten home either, almost 24 hours after we did. So the only stuff that got home was the camera bodies and lenses, which all rode home on my back in the camera backpack. What is not home is some filthy clothing that I am not too concerned about, the heavy power supply for my notebook computer, which has all of the images from the photography trip on it (so I havent been able to work on further sorting the images, grumble), the backup device that has the other copy of those images, both of our heavy-duty tripods with their heavy Arca-Swiss ballheads, and all of the battery chargers for the camera bodies. Id hand-carry everything if I could! What these jokers dont lose outright they mishandle so badly that even the sturdiest of gear gets smashed up. Yes, we changed planes in Dallas yesterday morning, but we had an hour and half to do so, enough time to change terminals and to eat lunch. That should have been plenty of time for the bags to make the same connection we did. Its not like I sprinted from one end of the airport to the other (not likely with the heavy pack on my back) and barely made it; it was not at all what I would have thought a tight connection. Bah! Commercial airlines: in a race to the bottom of the barrel!
