Grrrr! That must be “The Ridge” clearing its throat and getting ready for the next wave of Central NY’s finest racers. They are going to be rockin again at Thunder Ridge this week-end. CNYMRA is bringing the best MX riders in Central New York to dual with “The Ridge”. The 40th season of racing is coming to a close this weekend august 31st and September 1st. The “ghosts” of thunder ridge will be watching over us as we wrap up motor cross for yet another year. EVS has again given us gift certificates worth in excess of 15,000 which will be handed out as part of our on going economic stimulus package random drawings. Remember that EVS is now making road gear as well as braces helmets and MX gear. In continuation of operation rollback we will offer special discounts for riders signing up for both days of racing. This is an appropriate time to give a shout out to our sponsors who have helped bring you the challenges and excitement of thunder ridge 2013. This includes EVS, TNT Cycle, North Norwich Motors, Excel Motorsports, Ken Czworka photos. This weekend we will again be giving cash for experts courtesy of North Norwich motors and we will continue to pay experts on a two for three basis and give out trophies on a one for every three rider basis. Select classes will see some extra trophies. I would also like to thank all that make thunder ridge run. This is a big list with not enough room here to include all who have been important to thunder ridge over the years. These people are important enough to be obvious to all who have been near the track at any point over the past 40 seasons, however, please throw an extra smile and hey to Bruce as you come through the gate this week-end. He has been here from the very beginning. It is also appropriate to give a big thank you to all of the riders that have graced these hills for the last 40 seasons. That group includes all the racers past and present plus their moms and dads as well as the spectators that cheer them on. Without all of you we wouldn’t be here. This weekends sign ups are from 7-9 fri and sat night as well as 7-9 sat and sun mornings. Practice will start directly after morning sign up. Paul Peterson will again be here to guide you through each day’s excitement and start us off with his rendition of the national anthem. Don’t forget to give him any of your sponsors names who may have helped you in your quest to concur ”the ridge”. For those college students interested in an application for the Michael James Simmons memorial scholarship please drop off your name and address at the track.
