Guardians of the Galaxy was fun. LOVED the music, and the light touches of self-aware humor and banter. Having no connection to the comic series whatsoever, my next thought will most likely be an unpopular one: take away the above, and this movie felt like any of a number of recent space opera/sci-fi films overstuffed with computer effects, action sequences, self-contained logic and labyrinthine geek-speak plots. I liked it and was entertained, but I was never really thrilled and by the end found myself not really caring about anyones fate.
