Guess WHO was Blessed Today??? Many churches Celebrate the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on October 4th every year. The feast commemorates the life of St Francis, who was born in the 12th century, and is the Patron Saint of Animals and the Nature. St Francis is also Remembered for his Compassion and Generosity to the poor. He died in Portiuncula, Italy on October 4, 1226. The Feast of St Francis is also recognized as a time for pets to be Blessed. Last year, we asked our Friends & Spirit Warriors to send us pictures of their pet(s), and we would bring them and have their pets Blessed. Two Incredibly Dear friends created murals of these Wonderful photos, and we printed Color copies of the pictures. Almost 1,000 pets were Blessed from the pictures we received last year, just from our Spirit Warrior submissions!!! Our local church, St Francis Episcopal Church, held their annual Blessing of the Animals TODAY -- on Caturday! Sadly, because of what happened to CC with the veterinary debacle on October 3rd, and her subsequent Urgent Care, we were not able to Devote our time to organize such a massive undertaking this year. But, we DID attend the Blessing of the Animals this afternoon! We spoke at length with the Priest, Father Dean, and told him about CC. We told him about the terrible debacle with the first veterinarian, and the interference from someone who was never authorized to give consent in making CC a blood serum donor, when she was actually there just to be spayed, and how all of this has harmed her. He became visibly upset. Even moreso when he saw her neck....and her tummy. However, Mom also told Father Dean about our Spirit Warriors, and how soooooo MANY of YOU Stepped forward -- Dearest, Most Wonderful Friends, and even Concerned Strangers (who we Hope will become our Mew friends) -- BOLD and Compassionate Warriors who Came together to Help Right such a Horrible, Terrible Wrong. And THAT, my friends, is what Moved this Priest the MOST!!! So, in addition to Blessing CC (and me again!), Father Dean also Gave a BEAUTIFUL Blessing to Each & EVERY One of YOU ~ and a Special Blessing to your Beloved Pet(s)!!!
