Today is all about a fun plank to forearm plank transition that I like to call ‘Twister Plank’. Start in Plank pose with your arms straight, shoulders over the heels of your hands. Feet are hip width apart. Draw your front ribs in to engage your core and protect your lower back (you want to keep your center tight during the entire transition so you don’t sit in the flexibility of your lower body). Take a breath in plank and then place your right elbow where your right hand is. Follow suit by placing your left elbow where your left hand is, so now you’re in Forearm Plank (shoulders over the elbows and shoulder width apart). Repeat this to come back up. Right palm where your right elbow is, left palm where your left elbow is. Continue this twister dance in-between Plank and Forearm Plank keeping your center engaged and gaze forward for anywhere from 20 seconds to a minute.
