Guildhall School of Music and Drama Short Courses Music, Technical Theatre and Wellbeing short courses 2014 - Update Body Mapping Body Mapping helps you further your body awareness, specifically in relation to playing and performing, to fulfil your potential as a performer and to avoid pain and injury. The course integrates Alexander Technique, Body Mapping and Feldenkrais and is facilitated by Sarah Newbold, Philippa Davies and Amy Likar along with Joseph Sanders and Patricia Morris. Creative Music Training Our Creative Music Training course offers a unique opportunity for musicians and educators to develop and study collaborative workshop-leading skills and creative approaches to communicating through music in diverse participatory contexts. The course is taught by Barbican/Guildhall Creative Learning tutors Paul Griffiths, Detta Danford and Natasha Zielazinski. Period Hat Making You will be introduced to various skills and techniques which will enable you to reproduce hats from the 19th Century. Using original references and costumed productions from the stage and film, you will construct a bonnet or a top hat using buckram and cover it with velvet, silk or printed cotton and ribbon trims. The course is taught by Jane Smith. Jane has made hats for film, TV and Theatre productions since 1968. Her upcoming credits include Ralph Fienness The Invisible Woman, a 10 episode Sky TV series Dracula with Jonathan Rhys Meyer and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Christmas productions in Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies Additionally, our evening Mindfulness for Performers course is scheduled this Atumn from 23 October - 11 December, 8 consecutive Thursdays, 6.30pm.
