Guitar geek chat: After 4 years of using no guitar effects pedals WHATSOEVER live (other than a Blackstar valve distort pedal when I wasnt able to use my own amp)…I delved back into that unfamiliar world tonight and ordered some new pedals for some work I have coming up much later in the year, which rehearsals start next week. Just an acoustic simulator and a chorus….pretty bland but Im embarrassingly excited to get them and try them out! I usually loathe effects pedals but my favourite one Ive ever owned was a Memory Toy Analogue Delay which I was given as a birthday present for a couple of shows I was playing with ex-Rainbow singer Doogie White, I needed a delay pedal for the solo for the song Stargazer and it sounded absolutely perfect. Time to try and dust off my old pedal board, and hopefully not take a few years off my life by breathing in the 3 inches of dust on the thing.
