Gujarat Development Story#3 108 emergency ambulance service: Shree Arvind Kejriwal First of all AAM AADMI of GUJARAT has benefited more than AMBANI OR ADANI through this service Anyone from Any corner of Gujarat can dial 108 and gets an ambulance within 10 minutes during any emergency. That ambulance service is free of cost for anyone and they take you till the nearest hospital available. This service was started in Gujarat somewhere around Aug 2007 & gujarat was the first state to implement in such manner, and today all Gujarati s can proudly say that this service has achieved a major milestone in health sector. This entire project is partially funded by central govt. too. but Gujarat is the only state to implement this is such an efficient manner. I was personal witness when during an accident on highway near a village of Mundra taluka had happened before two years , within 5 minutes 108 ambulance had reached....Point here i want to make is that even remotest area is covered through this service. Other gujaratis can share their own experience about it. This service has saved lots of lives over here..!!
