Gulf Provincial Government has engaged Frontier Equities Limited to be its specialist investment consultants for the Gulf LNG project. (Post Courier, March 4). The company will provide services on the development of the Gulf LNG project and its other infrastructure projects. Governor Kavo says this company will help GPG achieve its development aspirations captured in the first ever Gulf provincial development plan 2010 - 2020. I wonder how the appointment of this so called specialist consultant is going to drive development and engagement of the Gulf people in the LNG project. My question is how will the people benefit from a deal like this? how many more consultants do we need to develop Gulf? How many more specialists do we need to provide much needed services for our people? Does the GPG really need this consultant company? The people of Gulf want to participate in the LNG project, not be spectators. But looking at the way our good governor is going, I believe our benefits will be thrown to the consultants while we collect the scraps.
