Guy and I were privileged to join the Benelli motorcycle club of Chiang Mai today on a trip to the the Giant Tree House, a coffee house and homestay built in an enormous tree, high in the mountain jungles, about an hour outside of Chiang Mai. You have to cross a rope bridge to get to it, and it offers very good coffee, along with wonderful views of the jungle. It sits quite high up in the mountains, and the last few miles are a challenging climb up a narrow little road packed with very tight turns. The air was cool and clear, the coffee good, our hosts were very welcoming, and the experience was extremely pleasant. It was a wonderful way to spend a day.
