Guyanese need to wake up and realise that crime and criminality are ills of a society that ought to be dealt with at every level. Crime is not restricted to any one group and criminals do not discriminate. We could bicker from now till the end of eternity about what the face of crime looks like, what we believe it should look like and why we are surprised when it looks a different way, But the crime problem will continue until there is a broad based intelligent approach to not only criminality but what is pushing so many people from all types of backgrounds into criminality. We should be worried. Outside of Guyana, I have been paying close attention to Barbados of late because I have noticed something strange over there, a sudden upsurge in robberies,murders and even drive by shootings...that is all coming in Barbados when it is believed that the economy is at one of its worst points in years. So back here in Guyana, we can comment non stop or begin to examine the root causes and therefore by attacking and destroying the root of the problem, we would have killed the entire plant. #focus
