Guys, Ive been out of the country for a few months. The most shocking thing coming home, other than how clean everything is, is how many obese people we have. On a global scale obesity is a great problem to have -- compared to homeless in India, prostitution in Thailand, pollution in China, or meth and amputee problems in Cambodia Id take a country of obesity any day. But it definitely sticks out. Other than that: the rest of the world thinks we are religious gun nuts. They also know we have our own grinding poverty, an out of control military industrial complex, and shitty infrastructure. Coming from the US four months ago I thought everyone in the world wanted to be American. They kind of do -- at least the James Dean / California / rock and roll and Corvette type of American. However you should know that we are also viewed as a troubled, fat, violent and angry country.
