Guys, my fav car is up for sale. Pass the word around. Below is an ad I had placed: Description: Make & Model: Toyota Mk2 Supra 2JZGTE, T72 BB Single Turbo Conversion. Year Model: 1984 Mileage: Approximately 195 000kms Colour: Red Description: I have owned this car for roughly 9/10 years, and put an enormous amout of time, effort & cash into it, but priorities have changed over this period. The car is fitted with a 2JZGTE single T72 ball bearing turbo conversion, which ran perfectly, up until it picked up a bit of dirt in the one of the two Walbro pumps. Consequently, the standard tank has been removed & replaced with a fuel cell & surge tank. This has been done. All that is required to bring this beast to life is a FPR, pump & management to be fitted. I have already purchased 2 genuine Bosch 044 pumps, a Bosch truck battery, Works racing stage 2 FPR & triple processor Dicktator management (special order), all this at an additional 12K. This is SOME of what the car has & estimated costs: 2JZGTE - R24 000 Toyota Fatboy gearbox: R10 000 Triple plate Tilton Clutch: R12 000 3.73 Ratio race diff: R10 000 T72 ballbearing turbo: R10 000 1000cc Precision Injectors: R 6000 Intake & exhaust manifolds: R6000 Throttle body: R2000 Wastegate & Dumpvalve: R5000 Intercooler & fans: R5000 DP & exhaust: R5000 KYB AGX dampening adjustable shocks: R6000 Rear camber kit: R2000 Fuel Cell: R4000 Wheel adapters & rims: R12 000 Thats over R110K in parts alone, without taking into consideration the cost of the vehicle, the engineering & labour & balance of the parts like the gauges, 12mm fuel lines, piping, sundries, new oem parts, etc. It has cost me a packet!!! I peg the cost of this vehicle to me at around the R180 to R200k mark. Power expectations are in the 700/750whp range, which on a light body like the Mk2 will yield an amazing power to weight ratio. Unlike the hybrid conversions into other light bodied cars such as the E30, RWD Corolla, etc, this chassis can SAFELY handle the power & is a conversion undertaken many times over in the US. The low wide stance of the car helps keep it on the road. The heavier cars with this conversion, like the E46, lose out as a result of their weight. So, the Mk2 Supra is an ideal platform & enjoys the best of both worlds. Condition: Taking its age into consideration, very good, but age should not be a deterrent, as its a solidly built car. There is a tiny amount of rust the majority of which isnt visible, needs a sunroof rubber & does, by my standards, require an outer blow over. Body is VERY straight & paint is original. Some interior plastics are cracked, but I have a bunch of replacement parts. Location: Durban Price: Given the fact that it needs the finishing touches to complete it mechanically & cosmetically, I think a beyond fair price, and actually an absolute bargain price is R98 000 neg.
