Guys, something I do not think has been discussed enough is how integral the Coens O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack has been to the last decade of music. So, lets talk about it here. That soundtrack, more than any other single influence, was probably responsible for the folk/roots revival which, as we know, Ive done a good deal of making fun of around here, but I do it all out of love. So, can Inside Llewyn Davis do for 60s folk what their last music-minded movie did for bluegrass? Well, 60s-era folk probably doesnt *need* as much of a revival, as that scene has loomed pretty large over the past fifteen years or so. But it would be nice to see some of the lesser known stars of the scene get their due and, in any case, what am I going to do: NOT get pumped about a new Coen Brothers movie? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? I swear, sometimes it is like you dont even know me at all.
