Guys, thinking caps on ... You remember I mentioned that Velo Fringe will take place before and after the Velo-city Global Adelaide 2014 Conference from 27-30 May. We have about 15 days in which to plan and implement a series of EBC events. I have done some thinking and had preliminary talk with one organisation and come up with the following working list of possibilities. 1. European style evening city ride - dressing up in style and cruising the Citys popular streets in and among the Velo-city Global crowd with plenty of stops for refreshments along the way. 2. Riding the Thin Green Line: a joint ride with SEKA (Justice for Cyprus Co-Ordinating Committee) to remember the thin Green Line that still divides that island to this day. A ride the length and back of the Green River Torrens Linear Park starting and ending from the Cypriot Community Hall in Welland which sits on ... the Linear Park. 3. A display of Dutch and other European bikes to admire and trial - to be held on the banks of the River Torrens in Elder park. 4. A simple burbs to Beach and Back run using a mixture of roads and bicycle paths with breakfast for beginners and lunch for those who desire upon our return. 5. Ride & Picnic in the Park: baskets, blankets, DIY tucker and refreshments for those wanting a taste of our lifestyle. 6. A Barossa Valley Trail Ride for the more adventurous. A lengthier day foray through the heart of SAs premier wine-growing district. Note that we will in all probability be sharing our experiences with a national and international audience. Some activities lend themselves better to the weekend others to mid-week. Are there any more sterling ideas out there ...? velo-city2014/pages/velo-fringe.php
