H/T Lana Duze Intricate lacework Pickerings Triangle of Bridal Veil Nebula. The Veil Nebula, also known as Witch’s Broom Nebula, Bridal Veil Nebula, Cirrus Nebula, or Filamentary Nebula, is a diffuse nebula that constitutes the visible parts of the Cygnus Loop, a supernova remnant located in the constellation Cygnus, the Swan. The Veil Nebula has three main parts: the Eastern Veil, the Western Veil, and Fleming’s Triangle (Pickering’s Triangle). It is the remains of a star that exploded between 5,000 and 8,000 years ago. At the time, the expanding cloud was likely as bright as a crescent Moon, remaining visible for weeks to people living at the dawn of recorded history.
