H/T Rick Crippen FEDERAL TERRITORY Read the US Constitution Article I, Section 8, Clause 17 and Amendments 9 & 10. ALL federal lands authorized for the federal government are located in the 10 square miles of DC. No more are allowed. Once a territory becomes a state no federal territories exist within its borders. Even Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and the territories in the Pacific which were acquired through wars, treaties or power grabs are just a trust being held for the people of those territories, not for the feds. (and should be turned back over to them as soon as possible.) Counties are subdivision of a state. The sheriff is the highest elected official in any county. The word sheriff comes from the Anglo Saxon shire reiff which means the protector of the countys people. (shire=county, reiff=protector) A sheriff who wont stand up to people in silly costumes wearing badges and guns is not really a sheriff at all. ********************************* THIS IS EXACTLY RIGHT. WE VOTE DIRECTLY FOR SHERIFF AND HE?SHE IS THE PERSON SET UP TO BE THE PROTECTOR OF THE PEOPLE. THE FOUNDING FATHER SET IT UP THAT WAY.. CHECK WITH YOUR SHERIFF AND SEE WHOSE SIDE HE IS ON!!
