When the rain became unbearable, I took refuge under a shed and prayed that someone would give me a lift to Bugolobi. Suddenly, there was a beam from an oncoming car, God had answered my prayers. In a desperate attempt to stop this car I hurled myself into the middle of the road. The car came to a halt as I yanked the door open and dumped my wet self into the co- drivers seat. However, I realised that whereas the car was moving, there was no driver in it, not even a passenger. It was an empty car but strangely when it reached a junction, a hand came from out of the drivers window and turned the steering wheel. Now to me this was cheesy, I am Ugandan, I know about ghosts and using the power of my award-winning legs, I can outrun any ghost, any day. As the car moved, I opened the door, leaped out and in a flash I had set a new 100-metres record. It was like I had encountered Lucifer himself. I ran till I reached Zone 7, a local kafunda and while narrating my ordeal to the boys, two men walked into the bar. They were wet; you could tell they had also been in the rain. One of them then looked at me, shook his head in disgust and then turned to his colleague while pointing at me and said: THIS IS THE BASTARD WHO ENTERED THE CAR WE WERE PUSHING.
