HAHS is pleased to announce that we were the recipient of not one, but two grants from the ASPCA this year! We received a $4,000 grant in early March to upgrade fencing on our main farm, as well as to put up new fencing on the new property. In addition to the fencing grant, the ASPCA recently granted us $7,000 to be used towards the renovation of one of our outbuildings into a rehabilitation barn. This grant could not have come at a better time as we have TRIPLED our herd size since 2011.The new barn will include a hoist to move our sling, enabling us to transport equines that are unable to support or are too injured to support their own body weight, around the barn, as well as several large stalls, and a heated wash rack. We are still in need of additional funding for the Rehabilitation Barn Project, so if you could find it in your hearts to donate, the horses would be very appreciative!
