HAITI UPDATE #4 Today was another good day. We started in Royale by attempting to help some local fishermen bring in nets. The goal was to help them with a task then share some rice and the Gospel with them. We quickly realized that maybe we werent helping as much as we thought we were. We ended up breaking one of their nets, but they repaired it and we encouraged them from the sidelines! We then divided into groups and went door to door and shared rice and the Gospel. The people were very receptive and the students were very bold. After lunch, we went to another community to do the same. This community does not have a church and our goal was to help prepare the way for a future work. We had an impromptu church service with help from another pastors family and shared at homes there as well. Again, the students did great. This week has been hot with a number of last minute changes but the students have been exceptional. No complaints, eager to serve, and willing to go the extra mile. Whenever we get back to the mission home, we have time to rest but none of the students ever take advantage of it so they can play with the kids from the neighborhood. We have an early morning tomorrow. Most of us are leaving at 5:30 am for an optional hike to the top of Mt. Kenny to watch the sunrise. We will have some free time in the morning but will end the day at Ms. Phyllis orphanage after lunch. The students are excited about seeing her and her kids. Thanks again for the prayers. Its been a joy to serve with such awesome students!
